Notion to MailerLite: send your newsletter from Notion
Nocadi connects Notion to MailerLite: you write each newsletter as a page in a Notion database, and Nocadi turns it into a branded draft campaign in your MailerLite account. Test, schedule or send it by changing one status, and opens and clicks land back in the same Notion row. No Zapier, no copy-paste.
How it works
How to send a MailerLite campaign from Notion
Only the first step is setup. After that you stay in Notion.
Connect Notion and MailerLite
Share your campaigns database with Nocadi, paste a MailerLite API token and set a default sender. Nocadi adds the columns it needs.
Write the email, set Ready to send
Write the page like any Notion doc, choose MailerLite groups in 📨 Audience and set Ready to send. A draft appears in MailerLite and follows your edits.
Test, send, read the numbers
Send yourself a test, then set Send to audience. Opens, clicks, unsubscribes and bounces fill in on the same row afterwards.
How do you connect Notion to MailerLite?
Setup happens once. Create a Nocadi account, connect Notion and share your campaigns database, allowing Update content so Nocadi can add columns and write results back.
Then add MailerLite on the Connections page with an API token from your MailerLite account, plus a default sender name and email (a verified sender in MailerLite). The connection name becomes the prefix on every audience option in Notion.
Finally, attach the database. Nocadi adds its 📨 columns for status, subject, audience, send time, results and stats, and fills the Audience drop-down with your MailerLite groups and segments. It never deletes columns, so an existing content calendar is safe. The setup guide shows each screen.
Which MailerLite groups and segments can a campaign go to?
Every group and segment in your MailerLite account appears in the 📨 Audience drop-down, with segments marked (segment). The platform is read from your pick, so there is no separate destination column.
One campaign can go to several groups at once, or to several segments, but not a mix of the two. MailerLite quietly ignores the groups when a campaign carries both, so Nocadi stops and explains it in 📨 Result instead of mailing fewer people than you asked for. All picks must also be on the same platform.
How do I exclude a group in MailerLite?
MailerLite's API has no exclude field. Build a segment in MailerLite whose conditions leave out the people to skip, then pick that segment in 📨 Audience.
Do edits made in the MailerLite dashboard survive?
Recipients do; content does not. A group or exclusion you add to the draft inside MailerLite is kept, because Nocadi only rewrites recipients when 📨 Audience changes in Notion. The email body comes from Notion, so the next sync replaces edits made in MailerLite's editor. Schedule with 📨 Send at rather than in the dashboard, since a dashboard schedule has to be cancelled before Nocadi can apply an edit.
How do MailerLite merge tags work in Notion?
Write neutral tokens in Notion and Nocadi rewrites them into MailerLite's own merge tags when it syncs. They work in the subject, preview text, headings, paragraphs, list items and button labels.
| Write in Notion | MailerLite receives |
|---|---|
{{ first_name }} | {$name} |
{{ last_name }} | {$last_name} |
{{ full_name }} | {$name} {$last_name} |
{{ email }} | {$email} |
Fallbacks work on MailerLite: Hi {{ first_name | there }}, reads "Hi there," for subscribers with no first name on file. Tags pasted in MailerLite's own syntax, such as {$name}, are recognized too. An unknown token blocks the sync instead of shipping raw braces to your list, and the unsubscribe link is added for you as {$unsubscribe}. See every personalization variable.
MailerLite email branding, footer and unsubscribe link
Each Notion page is rendered with a theme you set up once: logo, brand name, colors, fonts and alignment. Keep several themes and pick one per campaign in 📨 Theme. Headings, lists, callouts, images and columns become email-safe HTML, and a link on its own line becomes a button.
Every theme shares one footer: footer text, mailing address, social links and the unsubscribe link. Fill in the mailing address before your first send: it is required for compliance. MailerLite can also add an automatic footer of its own, so turn that off in your MailerLite account settings, or subscribers see two footers.
Test, schedule and approve MailerLite campaigns from Notion
In 📨 Status, Ready to send builds or updates the MailerLite draft, named after the Notion page. Send test emails the rendered campaign to whoever changed the status. MailerLite has no test-send API, so Nocadi adds that address to a group called Nocadi Test in your account and sends a separate copy marked [TEST]; the real draft stays untouched.
Send to audience is the only status that mails your list. To send later, set a future date and time in 📨 Send at first; times are UTC unless the Notion date has its own time zone. With team approvals on, the campaign waits for enough teammates to approve, and it can never go to the same audience twice. See the full status flow.
MailerLite stats in your Notion database
After the send, Nocadi reads the campaign report from MailerLite and writes recipients, delivered, opens, open rate, clicks, click rate, unsubscribes and bounces into the same Notion row, with 📨 Stats updated showing when they last changed. Opens and clicks are unique. MailerLite reports no delivered figure, so Nocadi shows sent minus hard and soft bounces.
The numbers keep refreshing for 30 days, long enough to catch late opens, and sit in ordinary Notion number columns you can sort and filter like any other.
Nocadi vs Zapier, Make or copy-paste for MailerLite
Three ways to get a newsletter from Notion into MailerLite:
| Nocadi | Zapier or Make | Copy-paste | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Setup | Connect two accounts, attach a database | Build and maintain a workflow | None |
| Formatting | Notion blocks become branded email HTML | You build the HTML step | Rebuilt by hand in MailerLite |
| Later edits | The draft follows the Notion page | Depends on your workflow | Paste it again |
| Merge tags | Converted and checked | Mapped by you | Typed in MailerLite |
| Stats in Notion | Written back for 30 days | A second workflow | Copied by hand |
| Price | €5 a month | Your automation plan | Free, but slow |
Zapier and Make are the better fit when one Notion change has to reach many apps. For newsletters written in Notion and sent with MailerLite, Nocadi does that one job end to end, with guardrails against accidental sends.
